Nursing and Other Services

Calhoun County Medical Care Facility provides 24-hour professional services to our residents.

We have RN and LPN charge nurses, clinical managers, certified nursing assistants, and on staff nurse practitioners who provide for the needs of our residents.
The Social Work Team serves as a liaison between various community agencies and specializes in family issues, problem resolution, and Medicaid application assistance.
Nutritionally balanced meals are individualized according to resident need and monitored by a Registered Dietitian. Meals are served from
each neighborhood’s kitchen and dining room. Residents may also choose from “always available” menu items.

Life Enrichment

Calhoun County Medical Care Facility provides a wide variety of activities supervised by a Certified Music Therapist and offers a variety of life enriching programs and services such as:

Our highly skilled team of professionals helps with the transition between the hospital, foster care, or home settings to our nursing home. Our Facility provides a wide variety of services with state-of-the-art equipment:

Therapy

Calhoun County Medical Care Facility is committed to providing a clean environment with proper medical care, high-quality skilled therapies and rehabilitation services. The Facility is certified by Medicare and Medicaid and is licensed for 120 skilled care beds. Of those 120 beds, 88 are private rooms and 16 are semi-private

In addition to our long-term care services, we have created a resident-centered, short-term skilled therapy program funded primarily by Medicare. Sixty-five percent of those residents receiving short-term skilled therapy return home on average within 31 days. Our rehabilitation services include physical, occupational and speech therapy.

It is the mission of Calhoun County Medical Care Facility to provide each resident with opportunities to live life fully, while striving to eliminate the plagues of loneliness, helplessness and boredom. We will provide a clean environment with proper medical care, high-quality skilled therapy and rehab services, healthy food choices and spontaneous interactions that include loving companionship, and opportunities to give as well as receive care.
