The Marian E. Burch Adult Care Center, a part of the Calhoun
County Medical Care Facility, means quality professional care for elderly or
disabled adults. The Center means peace of mind to the caregivers who must be away from
home or at work.
The
Marian E. Burch Adult Day Care & Rehabilitation Center is located adjacent
to the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. The Calhoun County Board of
Commissioners authorized the building of the Center in 1992 with a general
issue bond. The 16,000 square feet of space house the Center and four (4)
short-term 24-hour respite care beds.
Adult Day Care offers respite opportunities to the caregiver and the chance for
socialization to the client. The Center has been designated as a "National
Model" by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and has been certified by the Michigan
Association of Adult Day Care Centers. Individualized activities, nutritious
food, flexible scheduling, and medical monitoring are key features of the programming.
The Center staff represents more than 50 years of combined experience in
adult day care services. Staff members are well trained and are sensitive to client needs.
The Adult Day Care program provides medical/rehabilitation services and social activities
to individuals 18 years and older with physical or mental disabilities.
